Evaluation
During creating the puppet for unit 67 3D animation I feel that I was able to follow instructions and work well towards making a good final outcome. I feel my progress had both strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
I found it easy to construct the puppet in Modeler and think this worked well.
During the construction of the build in Modeler I found it easy to duplicate pieces of the robot using the correct keyboard shortcuts and knowing how many degrees I needed to move each piece to make them all symmetrical.
I found the rigging straightforward although I did encounter a few issues along the way and needed a little bit of help from my tutor.
I found it quite straightforward when putting the animation together and felt that the video ran smoothly once it had all been processed.
Weaknesses
I struggled when it came to animating the puppet. I found it difficult to get my head round what I needed to do in each key frame in order to achieve the correct movement cycle.
When creating the storyboards for each of the different movement cycles I found it difficult to match up the number of seconds to the key frames as it included lots of decimal numbers.
The only thing I found difficult is when I was doing the video I realised that the running movement cycle wasn't flowing as well as I wanted it to in Adobe Premier Pro, so I had to go back into Layout and change the cycle to make it look better.
Overall I feel that my puppet build, rig and animation worked well. I am pleased with the end product from my rendered videos. I feel that my finished product has achieved the aim of the project.

HA14 Task 9 - Presentation
Puppet Movement Cycle
This is the finished exported version of my Puppet Movement Cycle. It shows all the puppet animations I have created.

HA14 Task 8 – Production
Puppet Build
Friday 20th May 2016 and Monday 23rd May 2016
Once I had fully completed the construction of the puppet in Modeler I then had to rig it. I did this by adding skelegons to the arms and legs. This gave the puppet the ability to move and be manipulated.
Storyboards
Thursday 26th May 2016 and Friday 27th May 2016
This is the completed You Tube video which shows the different animations I have created for the puppet movement cycle. I had to render each of the movements cycles individually and then add text and decide on the length and order of the sequences to ensure that the video would flow.
Wednesday 18th May 2016 and Thursday 19th May 2016
I opened up the puppet build in Modeler. I then had to begin to move different pieces of the puppet around and put them into the correct position. Aside from this I also had to duplicate pieces which were already existant such as the arms, legs and head piece. I did this using a range of different keyboard shortcuts and tabs in Modeler.
Puppet Rig
Once I had fully completed the construction of the puppet in Modeler I then had to rig it. I did this by adding skelegons to the arms and legs. This gave the puppet the ability to move and be manipulated.
Storyboards
Tuesday 24th May 2016 and Wednesday 25th May 2016
I had to make five different storyboards. One for each different movement cycle. I had to include screenshots of different stages of the movement cycle. I also had to include the key frames and seconds in to show when the movement happened.

HA14 Task 5 – Puppet Rig
After completing the construction of the puppet I then had to start rigging it. I did this by adding skelegons to each arm. This meant that it had to ability to move and be manipulated.
HA14 Task 4 – Puppet Build
I opened up the template document in Modeler which provided me with all of the parts to construct the puppet.
I started by joining all of the arm pieces together for all five arms and then connected these to the body. I then joined the leg to the body and moved the head piece into the correct position.
I then duplicated the leg so that the puppet had five legs and moved them all into the correct position. I also duplicated the head piece so again there were five and moved them into position. After completing the construction of the puppet I then surfaced the legs. I made each leg a different colour so I was able to easily identify them when it came to rigging.
